|... what are you looking at? This is my female laying an egg...|
The Smooth Newt - Triturus vulgaris (Linnaeus, 1758)- male and female. The female is laying an egg carefully wrapped in a folded leaf. The male is watching her like a truly guardian.
You can find out more about this newt in my previous pictures.

Hello again Ioana,
That's a very nice shot illustrating an interesting behaviour. Technical comments are the same as previously - also I think that it would be better to shift the frame left! Anyway, the two points I give for the subject not for the technique :-)
Thanks for the note Ioana. The DOF is off but it is an interesting subject with varied color. Mike

Agree with Michal - little shift to the left should help. Very interesting scene, I must say it is best photo from serie. Male looks like kind of ancient dragon guarding its bride. Very interesting post.
Foarte fain momentul in care ai prins aceasta femela de T. vulgaris.
POV-ul si focusul sunt super (ma chinui de ceva vreme sa fac poze asemanatoare dar nu reusesc, intotdeauna este ceva in calea animalelor).

many compliments Ioana,
this picture is really well done, beautiful colours and correct perspective
Nice shot. I have never seen a shot like this one! Excellent colours and sharpness. Also good pov and good time to press the shutter. But in my opinion the light background at the bottom somewhatruins the beauty of the rest of the picture. May be cropping that part will make this picture a grand one.
