[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Alpine Marmot (Marmota marmota) is a species of marmot found in mountainous areas of central and southern Europe. Alpine Marmots live at heights between 800 and 3200 metres, in the Alps, Tatra and Pyrenees. Reintroduced with succes in the Pyrenees in 1948, where the Alpine Marmot had disappeared at end of the Pleistocene. An adult Alpine Marmot may weigh between 3 and 6 kg and reach more than 50 cm in length. It makes the Alpine Marmot the largest squirrel species.
Alpine Marmots eat plants and sometimes insects.
Alpine Marmots are social creatures that live as dense societies near their burrows. One can often see an Alpine Marmot "standing", that is keeping a look-out for possible predators or other dangers emitting a loud shrill or chirp on such an occasion. One whistle is given for possible airborne predators, more for ground predators.

Hello Mircea
This is a nice pose and capture of this Alpine Marmot. I like how he is sitting on his rock watching for predators. The colours are nice, especially the lichens on the rock, it's a nice contrast to the marmot and background.

A wonderful shot of the marmot! I like how the animal's hair looks so soft, in contrast to the rock and lichen.

I do like the picture quite a bit, but I would change the border's colors some -- maybe a black would make the greens and yellow browns jump out a little more than the blue border.

Nonetheless, the picture itself is fantastic! Great shot!

Inca o poza super fain de la tine.
...si inca o chestie pe care ar merita sa o vad si eu...
Ce misto ai prins-o! Statea la soare, pe un pietruc imens dar splendid colorat de licheni, fara probleme sau elemente distractive in FG...super!
Imi place de asemenea si compozitia dar si adancimea, care "intetoseaza" foarte bine BG-ul.
Singurul lucru dupa care nu ma dau in vant e rama...foarte interesanta alegere...dar la urma urmei, aia e duap gustul fiecaruia.
