[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Sloe Hairstreak (Satyrium acaciae) is a butterfly in the family Lycaenidae !

There are 7 species in the genus Satyrium in Europe - acaciae, ilicis, esculi, spini, w-album, pruni and ledereri.

This is one of the fairly "bland" grey-brown Hairstreaks found across southern and central Europe. This species doesn't extend south of northern Spain but it is found across the whole of central Europe including the east.
It is separated from its most similar cousins, the Ilex and False Ilex Hairstreaks, Satyrium ilicis and S. esculi, by its lighter grey underside ground colour, smaller size and the underside hindwing orange markings all touching and confined toe the lower half of the wing. In reality it isn't that difficult to tell apart from these two species but until you've seen one you might be skeptical about that!

Hi Miro,
Great shot, very pleasant composition-wise. In my opinion there are small things which you might work on through post-procession: just slightly more lights, slightly different (warmer) color tones, just slight sharpening of some parts of the wings... but these, however, are minor issues now. The composition absolutely sells the image. Congratulations for it. However, I post my version to demonstrate my ideas.
Best regards, László

Hello Miroslav,
Very nice shot of his butterfly in fine sharpness and natural colours. Maybe a bit on the dark side. Excellent composition.

Hallo Miroslav

Hi Miroslav
This is a nicely detailed and composed image of this tiny butterfly. I agree that as posted it's a little dark and "cool" but this is easily corrected - getting the image in the first place is the challenge ;-)
Best wishes, Nigel.
