This is a baby dragonfly, it was only about 6cm large in wingspan.
One day a group of 5 of them landed in my garden, posting themselves on the top of the yuca leaves and on bougainvillier branches.
I looked around the hillside below the garden and there were lots of them.
The few adults flying around were of the blue kind. The big ones never rested but the small ones were quite calm so I could approach them enough to take a photo.
I tried both my cameras as my samsung compact has a macro function and I still don't have a macro lens for the Olympus.

This one was from the Olympus.
distance to subject 2m, f/4,4, ISO 100, 141mm
hand held

Is it not a sweet little one!

have a nice day and thanks for looking

Hello Karin
Nice closed up presentation.Good POV and sharp image.Good details.Light and colro are nice.I also like that OOF Bg.
TFS Michel

Hi Karin,
Lovely shot of the dragonfly. Your POV shows the delicate legs and wings as well as the facial features with good focus detail. The tail is getting beyond DOF. The simple composition is pleasing and the blurred BG helps to bring attention to the subject. The BG reds add lively color. TFS

Hi Karin,
Thanks for your reply. I am not an expert but I think this one is a Red-veined Darter (Sympetrum fonscolombii). Hope it is right. Anyway a lovely capture. Sharp details and excellent composition. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Sorry I will be back with Points 2morow.

Hello Karin,
Lovely capture of this female Sympetrum from a nice POV. Excellent sharp focus on the eyes and I like its pose. You often find this species coming into gardens. They're great to watch and they tend to come back to the same perch all the time so they're very obliging.
Well done!
TFS and regards, Ulla
