Female Saddle-backed bushcricket
Ephippiger ephippiger

I'm sorry for those who saw this picture as a workshop in my last posting. Probably I made a mistake trying to save time, but in fact I should like to have this picture in my gallery beside the male.
Some of you have appreciated this picture already, and I am really grateful for that. Don't need to make any further comment.
Information about the species is in my previous post.
Thank you very much for your visit.

Hello Maite,
Fine details have been captured in this interesting fellow!
Good point of view, DOF spot on... Fine natural colours and sharp fine details!

Hola Maite,

Saludos Luis52.

Wow! What a cool cricket!
It looks like one of those transformer things from that new film.
Excellent sharpness and lots of detail all conserved by the impeccable clarity.
Nice colours and lighting.
Well done Maite!

Brava Maite,
hai fatto bene a riproporre questa immagine.
Era troppo bella per lasciarla solo nel Workshop.
Complimenti ancora,

Another suprb shot Maite, you collection of insects is very impressive and great to use for reference. This shot is no exception. Excellent detial and perfect DOF - well done!

I come you you without backing but with positive input. If one of your pictures had to stand out this would be among the tops...It is a super close in shot...and gives the insect real life! The greens and patterns of such are what makes it such a nice angle and view...
Tres' Everything! 'Especially good.

Hola Maite,
This is a perfect shot to me!
the exposure and focus is spot on with total sharpness, vivid colour and so much details to enjoy and view
very well done and well pleased
muchas gracias

Hello Maite!
This is fantastic documentary picture!!! You kept in this photo a female of Orthoptera order in using great timing! Why? The answer is very simple! Can you see "these white things" at the end of her abdomen? This is a specian sunstance which is producing by male after copulation! He is preparing special "chastity belt" (built from some proteins) which does not allow female to copulate with another male.
Thank you for showing this interesting photo and my best greetings from Lodz!

Hi Maite,
what a colourful cricket is this bush cricket. This is surely one of your most interesting insects as the colour really has impact. The crickets here where I live are are glossy black and until now I never had even seem a cricket that wasn't black. You have great detail and colour in this well focused picture and if I had not ran out of space for favorite photos this would be added to the list.Thank you for another wonderful image. Hello Maite,
What an amazing cricket, ours are small and black. This one looks like a cricket on steriods. Great camera work results in a great image, thanks.

bonjour maité
c'est une bonne macro, net et avec de belles couleurs,il n'y a que la tache derriere l'insecte qui me gene un peu.

Great detail, nice DOF & color Maite.
This cricket seems to be somehwere in the ovi-depositing process, you've documented it well. Thanks for showing this one :)
Well done,

Oh Maité! This is not an insect, this is an alien! Wow! What a strange looking specie! I have never seen it before. This is an excellent capture showing us some superb details and colors. Thanks for sharing this unique post.

nicelly composed, lovely colors,

Hello Maite. You are lucky to have both male and female captured in stunning sharpness. Excellent shot under the light exposing beautiful detail and clarity. Thanks for sharing and best regards. Jusni

Maite, I was a loser to miss this picture in the past.
So better-late-than-never syndrome works well for me in this case. I am simply thrilled to see this amazingly beautiful yet unfamiliar creature.
This Bush Cricket looks like a medieval warrior in his swanky armour.
The picture is a perfect example of first rate nature photography.
Well, thanks for showing me this precious gem.

Hola Maite,
Wonderful shot, Madame! Crystal clear sharpness, great colors and DOF - this image should be printed into insectology books. Marvellous.
Congrats and tfs, regards, László
