[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Papilio machaon caught sleeping. During this summer I've found many of them on a small patch of land. I used my 20d + 100mm macro lens + two flashes mounted on a flash bracket equipped with diffusers angled 45º + tripod + cable release

Hello Antonio,
very clear and well detailed, artistically well composed image. I also like the very well controlled soft light and the dim colours that are perfectly well fitting for a swallowtail captured sleeping. Very skilfully handled flash.
A very good starter, indeed. Thank you!
Best regards,
Peter

P.S.: Welcome to TN!

Hi Antonio and a warm welcome to TrekNature

This is a splendid macro to start your experience here with!
The side point of view shows this beautiful butterfly and his gorgeous wings well.
As Peter already said, the way you controlled the light here is impressive. You have quite an equipment there! :)
The details are impeccably clear and the shallow depth of field isolated your subject very well and clreated that lovely bokeh in the BG.
Wonderful work! Keep them comming :)

Bravo and thanks for sharing

Hi Antonio and welcome among TN members!
It is really nice to see that the new person interested in insects is appeared on Trek Nature! I really hope to see much more photos from you soon.
According to this picture I have to congratlate you the final effect - you kept here vry nice details, good depth of field, vivid, well saturated colours, and good contrast between butterfly and the background.
Only the note would be a little longer, but on the other hand who does not know this beautiful species? ;)
Once again welcome and best withes from Poland!

Wow! This set up gave great result. Exposure is natural in such a nice composition and perfect details! I have a 20-D too and I was recently thinking about changing it. This picture made me realized that it might be not the good time yet as it could brings such good results. Thanks for those useful technical tips :) Welcome to TN :-)!
