[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
In the early morning I wanted to turn the car and was surprised to see this Stilt just in the sun breaking through dense fog.

The Black-winged Stilt(Himantopus himantopus)is a widely distributed very long-legged wader in the avocet and stilt family (Recurvirostridae).
Some populations are migratory and move to the ocean coasts in winter; those in warmer regions are generally resident or short-range vagrants. In Europe, the Black-winged Stilt is a regular spring overshoot vagrants north of its normal range, occasionally remaining to breed in northern European countries, for example in Britain in 1987.[10]
These birds pick up their food from sand or water. They mainly eat insects and crustaceans.
The nest site is a bare spot on the ground near water. These birds often nest in small groups, sometimes with Avocets.

Hi Pierre

You caught this stilt well in good light, and the one thing that caught my instant attention is the length of those legs. Having mostly seen them in water, never did realise they have such long legs. It really stands tall at the side of the road..

Hello Pierre
pretty bird and lovely presentation. My experience was that this bird is so difficult to go near.
Lovely long leg and the ambience of red is splendid here.
Good lighting and you presented it in an exciting manner.
