Kochia scoparia is a shrub which is native to Eurasia. It has introduced populations in many parts of North America, where it is found in grassland, prairie, and desert shrub ecosystems.
Uses of Kochia scoparia include human food and traditional medicine, forage for livestock, and erosion control.
The seeds of Kochia scoparia are eaten as a food garnish called tonburi. Its texture is similar to caviar, and it also is called "land caviar", "field caviar" and "mountain caviar".

Hi Ferran,
this is a real beautiful picture, show a single flower against a nice blurry BG. I like DOF here the plant is in focus.
Maybe it could be a bit sharper and if I should nitpicking:
the top of the plant in the left corner down is a bit distracting, maybe if you had raised the camera a bit the BG had been clean.
Nevertheless it's a fine picture of a beautiful flower.

Nice photo of this flower in beautiful colours. Maybe a bit more contrast is possible. Good sharpness and an excellent DOF. Beautiful blurred BG.

Amb les bones fotos que fas, a veure si algun dia ens ensenyes algun ocellet,
de l'observatori de Sebes per exemple; he estat allí dos vegades de passada.
No sabia el nom de la carlina que vas publicar l'altre dia i que serveix de base
a dos fotos que he publicat fa poc.
Bonica la planta que ens mostres i està bé això del caviar de terra.
