Abutre-do-egipto, Egyptian vulture
(Neophron percnopterus)
Hello Trekkers!
Today I present the Egyptian vulture in flight.
Picture taken from the same hide.
This beautiful bird is smaller then it's friends. In general what I saw is that they take a first look then wait until the dozens of griffons and black vultures eat almost all. Then they appear to finish the work. It's thin beak allows to reach the bone marrow.

Have a great day and thanks for viewing... |

Joseph, muito boa captura desse abutre egípcio em vôo, grande detalhe de sua cabeça, é observado com perfeita clareza a ponta curvada fina de seu bico. Bom trabalho, meu amigo!

Hello Jose,
I don't believe I have ever seen a vulture with so much white color in its plumage. A beautiful specimen which has been captured in nice detail and lovely warm color tones. I like the eye contact and the way its wings are edged in black.
I believe I watched a documentary a while back saying that vultures in this part of the world are in danger from some type of chemicals that are poisoning them.
