Lacrymaria lacrymabunda

According to some older and developed specimens I found around, this is a emerging specimen of Lacrymaria lacrymabunda. It is growing directly on the side of a road, making its way through the stones and the asphalt.

The Lacrymaria group may be considered a sub-genus of Psathyrella, or may be regarded as a genus in its own right. The best known member of the group is Psathyrella lacrymabunda (= Psathyrella velutina = Lacrymaria lacrymabunda, etc.) which is common and quite easily recognizable from its shaggy cap and black ring area coloured by the spores. It gets its English name, "weeping widow", not from any poisonous nature, but from its tendency to exude droplets of moisture from the gill edges. Unlike many Psathyrella species, it is a good edible fungus.

Hi felipe. I have never taken a picture of any mushrooms.I must try. this has amazing detail and colour . The top looks like brown bread.

Hola Cristina, Hola Felipe:
estaba viendo la galeria, es impresionante la canidad de hongos diferentes!! pero este me llamó la atención por la textura que tiene, como si fuera la corteza de un árbol... es muy raro.
La foto es genial, ideal para un portaretrato. El POV es muy bueno, porque hace al hongo gigante y le da algo de protagonismo al suelo también. El BG está muy bien logrado.
Luz, colores y focos son excelentes.
Han logrado un muy buen trabajo!!!
