This is again a Trametes versicolor, o turkey tail, you can find plenty info about it on this site, so today I will talk about the oldest mushrooms in human history.

The accumulated, detailed data gathered to date strongly implicates the use of powerful hallucinogenic mushrooms in primitive forms of religion. There are numerous Meso American mushroom stones which date back to 3000 BC. These stones were found at Mayan excavation sites in Guatemala and it is known that these “mushroom cults” were strongly persecuted by the Spanish when they arrived in the New World. These may represent the sacramental mushroom called Teonanc-tl by the ancient Aztecs.

The oldest archaeological evidence of apparent mushroom use in the African continent can be seen in the Tassili images discovered in rock cave paintings in Algeria, dated at least 5000 B.C.. The dancer is about 80 cm in height with the mask and stance typical of that historical period of rock paintings. The dancer is probably a shaman and the repetitive mushroom symbols hallucinogenic mushrooms. In Europe, an effigy of a mushroom, not unlike Amanita, inserted in a scene with shamanistic connotations, has been found in a rock engraving of Mount Bego, France, dating back to 1800 B.C. Further important archaeoethnomycological documentation is to be found in ancient Greek culture.

In THIS PDF you will find a nice read about basic understanding of fungi, their structure and mode of growth and historical uses.

*sigh* what a beautiful shot. I love the lighting, colours and composition here. It is like a painting. Sharpness and detail are extraordinary and the contrast between fungi, lichens and background is stunning. I think this image has real depth, both in the small area of fungi itself and in the forest world within which the fungi is placed - world within a world. Superb! :)

Your the specialist Felipe,
fantastic composition, with great light in the shot, a fantastic pov and a great dof, this is realy beautiful Felipe, very good job, I like it a lot.

Amazing capture of these sometimes underrated Fungi! The species that you have shot have a highlighting violet/blue laced into them which look great in the lighting you've managed to capture! The composition, DOF, focus and sharpness are all really nice as well! Detail of the toothy underside of the Fungi as well as the Lichen and Moss in the foreground are dynamite! Well done on this photo!
