Congratulations! I tried for almost exactly this shot a couple of weeks back, but didn't quite manage to pull it off as well as this - nicely done! Didn't help that the only "ripe" specimens I could find were in a clump, but even so... Focus is on the nail, and sharpness is excellent too - I think a higher shutter speed would make the plumes sharper, but I like the effect you've achieved a lot! There's a slight shadow on the bigger puffball, and I'd love to engineer a shot without the whacking stick - maybe if you used a background image board to whack them with? Anyway, excellent work, a worthy two points :-D

Filipe I would have to agree with Adrian these are spot on and even the stick is not realy a problem, because it's colour matches the rest so well. The use of flash locks the plume of spore well, nice one.

Well done Felipe. It must have taken ages to get the timing right...you can hardly see the movement of the stick behind them.You don't see many shots like this.
You know,you really should be working for National Geographic or something. Your photo quality is simply faultless,plus it has that certain 'extra something' that makes all your pictures seem alive. Brilliant work!

Great shot here that I'm sure did take quite a few tries to get right. I didn't even notice the stick until I read the other notes. The slight, but even angle to the pair gives it a good compositional score too

Congratulations, Felipe. You can really call it an ACTION shot! It's not only perfect on a photographic way, but it speaks much better than any explanation. You've put a movie in the photo and achieved a rare shot. Not only the idea is original, but the realisation is spot on. I take my hat off to you.

Felipe, I don't know how did you do this shot, but for me it is pure mastery! Even without this eruption this is great photo. Warm light, excellent details and sharpness. I'm sorry that I can't give you 100pts for that!

Había visto este tipo de escenas en documentales de naturaleza pero jamás capturados en el momento justo con una cámara... y mucho menos por un amigo.
Gran imagen Felipe... este tipo de fotos son las que gratifican verdaderamente y las que de alguna forma, me impulsan a continuar aquí.
Mis felicitaciones y mi admiración por una gran presentacion.

What fun this image is and certainly very educational. How did you do it? Did you use that stick to bump them and create the "puff" of spores? Super detail nd your lighting/flash technique really worked well.

Excellent !

Even though you engineered the shot, it is worth more than two points, just brilliant. I like the blurred eruption, it captures the eruption. Composition and exposure are perfect.
