This is a small and delicate fungus, the biggest here is 4 Cm. of diamater.

Anyone who has ever tryed to get a good shot of a mushroom knows that it is difficult to find them in confortable places, and often messy backgrounds do not allow to make them stand out. Sometimes there is nothing you can do about it, except from getting some indetificative shots for the collection. That is just this case, so I decided to make a collage. I did not want to put this one into my fungi folder directly, I find it a lovely parasol.

Leucocoprinus brebissonii

* Cap: 2-4 Cm. diameter. White or cream colour. Surface full of darker fibers which do not reach the sharp edge of the cap. Central darker disk well delimited brown or black coloured.
* Gills: Free and and quite crowded. White, later cream. Complete edge.
* Stem: Cylinder shaped, 3-7 x 0.2-0.35 Cm., with bigger diamter at the base. It has a white small ring often missing.
* Flesh: Almost absent, white, weak spermatic smell, and slightly sweet flavour.
* Spores: White. 8-12 x 5-7 micras, Hialine, ovoid, slim silhouette.
* Habitat: Humus rich lands in diferent subtrates, even in greenhouses and parks. Grows in little clusters, rarely alone.
* Edible but with no culinary interest.
* Keys: Easy to ident. due to small size and delicate look, white colour, dark center, scattered darker fibers and striated edge.

Hope you like!

Ricardo

Hello Felipe,
You have managed the exposure perfectly, with each fungi well seen against the darker BG.
All outstanding views of this very small subject..
Very well done.

Hola Felipe,

Hi Filipe

A very beautiful and educating collage, my friend!

Also a nice read on the note :)

Hallo Felipe Mateo and Cristina,
nice and really three-dimensional impression of the fungi. Brilliant and sharp. An excellent combination of pictures to introduce this fungus species.
Best wishes, Peter

I like this collage very much. You have managed to make the fungus stand out from the background. It really is a pretty fungu. Reminds me of a summer parasol, the sort used by ladies in the nineteenth century.

Hi Felipe!

Crystal clear shot of fungus [sounds strange ;-)]. Perfectly used flash, very good DOF and details. Collage is very good choice here, we can see subject from different POVs. Quality as always very high. Bottom right is my favourite. Or maybe upper right ;-) ?

HI Felipe and Cristina,
this collage is perfect again - when do you write your first funghi-book? I also will have one with a dedication inside, ok?
Your shots are so phantastic, I love this one, thanks. Funghis are the same for you than dragonflies and damselflies for me.
Thanks and bye

What a wonderful and interesting collage that you have well done ! Very good idea to show different views of this nice mushroom. I also appreciate the complementary note... Congratulations my friend and thanks for sharing.

Hello Felipe,
A nice collage of this species. I have a picture of this fungus for awhile and not able to get the ID. Your pictures here just solve my problem. Regards,
