[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Went for a small family visit to Oskarshamn, while driving saw a bunch of redpolls enjoying their meal on some straws in the snow, took this picture handheld from the car with my 50-500 mm lens.

Its always a bit tricky exposing with snow but I think I managed quite ok here,I cropped and sharpened the picture with smart sharpening in Lab colors.

Hope you like it and TFW,

Hello Paul,
Interesting shot of a male Redpoll half buried in the snow!
The light management is excellent and this is pretty sharp and well composed.
TFS and best wishes, Ivan

Verry cute why would he be baried half in the snow? Any how nice managing the exopsure on the snow. He is verry cute.

Hmm... Interesting. So this is how the Redpolls are born... ;-) A great car window shot!

Hi Paul,
Very unusual capture this red poll must really like the seeds on that stalk. Exposure, color and composition all handled well. Thanks for sharing.

I agree with you there, snow is always tough to get the right exposure, but you did it, well done. Well taken and presented.

Hi Paul

Well done on a great shot. Lovely details you show here. Good POV, nice catchlight in the eye. TFS.

Hi Paul!

Ricardo

The strong point of this scene Paul is the posture and expression of the bird amid the snow.
I like the point of view captured with brightness that even create an aesthetic shade inside the composition.
The post processed that you comment us in your notes it has been very appropriate.
My best greetings... Ricardo

Hi Paul,
ooops what happened here? Looks like the little bird is over whelmed by this snow. Lovely composition, the sparkling snow looks great. Very nice details and colors.
Well done.

Salut Paul
Très jolie cette prise de vue de ce beau sizerin flammée. Les détails et les couleurs sont parfaits.
On dirait que ces branches de bois forment un piège.
Merci et au revoir...JP

Great POV on this Redpoll. Very good colour and light. TFS.

Hello Paul,
It's nice to see you back; it seems like a long time! This is a so wonderful post. I have never seen those guys here and I'm not sure we have them. I think they are so pretty. I love to see animals in the snow and yes, exposure is very good and so is this capture. I like its pose, details, lighting and the nice brilliance on the snow. Well done! Thanks,

Repolls and linets are close relatives I think :)
Looks very beautiful and sad in snowy BG.
TFS Paul.

Hello Paul

Very funny situation you have captured here. Very nice sharpness. The colours look a little bluish on my monitor.
