[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
During yesterdays walk I noticed some small moths (around 6-7mm) on a dandelion,I assume (but maybe I am wrong) it were the same moths as Ulla posted a few days ago and which made my search for a proper ID much easier.

Nettle-tap Anthophila fabriciana

The Nettle-tap is a very small moth indeed. Its larvae live on nettles mainly. It is a very common moth, very similar to the Moth Flies. Or should that be the other way around? By the way some claim that the Nettle-tap belongs to a small family of moths, the Sedge Moths. In Latin they are called Glyphipterigidae (just try to pronounce that!). Others believe it belongs to to a family called Choreutidae.

Hi Paul
Very nice photo of Choreutid moth. I like the composition and great contrast (nice bicolor).
The only problem is sharpness

Hello Paul,
Fun, that you should have found this little micro as well!! It's a superb capture, very sharp showing the pattern and the eye clearly and in fine natural colours. You have a smooth background too that makes it stand out very nicely. Well done!
TFS and cheers, Ulla

Nice composition.
Brilliant colours.
Well done,

Preciosa toma y fantástico contraste de esa pequeña polilla.
Enfoque justo en algunas zonas pero la toma en general me encanta.
Saludos Paul.

Hi Paul

A good sharp shot of this little moth. Contrasts well against the yellow flower, which also provides good scale.
