[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Last time I presented a dragonfly which is an important mosquito represser in the north regions of Scandinavia, today I would like to present you a picture from the place which really can be named "The Kingdom of mosquitos and black flies".

This is a part of Färnebofjärden National Park. Here you can see a main type of habitat protected in this park - wild and very beautiful Dalälven River.

Färnebofjärden is one of 28 National Park in Sweden. It was established in 1998 and takes area of some 101 sq. km. Park has a jagged river edge and contains more than 200 islands.
River and its oxbows make great place for blood sucker insects - mosquitos and black flies.
Please believe me, you can not imagine all these millions flying flies waiting for your blood!!! :>
Of course park is an area where many other creatures live, eg. some 100 bird species, including all Swedish owls and woodpeckers.


I would like to dedicate this picture to two of my students who visited this area with me, both of them are also members here in TN: Pawel (shalom) and Piotr (gadawskip).

To co napisałeś to niestety jak się potem okazało dość bolesna i swędząca prawda :)
Ale moim zdaniem widoki, które tam zobaczyliśmy i zdjęcia które zrobiliśmy były tego warte. Efekt widać powyżej.

Hello Radomir,
I know what you are talking about. I don't live so far away from this place.
I feel sorry for the people who lives there, it's impossible to
spend some times in the garden without using a mosquito tent.
They have bomb the are with BTI twice times this year so maybe next year will better.
Nice to see a nice picture from my home area.

Hello Radomir,
What a hell of a place, this Kingdom of mosquitos! Looking at the picture with its melancolic atmosphere we wouldn't imagine all these flying and blood sucking creatures. Nothing for me! But the picture is well taken, the light well managed, the composition very pleasing.

Hi Radomir,
I have to be honest, this picture is not well exposed. The natural contrast is big and this has resulted in a under exposed river. It would have been much better if you had used a grad ND or merged two exposures since I can see some wonderful elements in the bottom half of the photo.
