Thanks for the comments on my previous post.
This is a Greylag Goose photographed at an little lake 100km from my town Gävle in the early spring
It is not often that you get a side glance of a bird when it flies but this goose flew around the lake in large circles when it was startled by a pair of eagles.
You can see how the plumage has various shades of black, white, gray and brown.
I took this with my 300mm 2.8L and a 2.0x converter (600mm)hand held.

Info from Wikidedia.

The Greylag is the largest and bulkiest of the grey Anser geese. It has a rotund, bulky body, a thick and long neck, and a large head and bill. It has pink legs and feet, and an orange or pink bill.[2] It is 75 to 90 centimetres (30 to 35 in) long with a wing length of 41.2 to 48 centimetres (16.2 to 19 in). It has a tail 6.2 to 6.9 centimetres (2.4 to 2.7 in), a bill 6.4 to 6.9 centimetres (2.5 to 2.7 in) long, and a tarsus 7.1 to 9.3 centimetres (2.8 to 3.7 in). It weighs 2,921 to 3,612 grams (103.0 to 127.4 oz). Males are generally larger than females, more so in the eastern subspecies rubirostris.[2]The plumage of the Greylag Goose is greyish-brown, with a darker head and paler belly with variable black spots. Its plumage is patterned by the pale fringes of its feathers. It has a white line bordering its upper flanks. Its coverts are lightly coloured, contrasting with its darker flight feathers. Juveniles differ mostly in their lack of a black-speckled belly.

Hello Gert
Perfect in flight capture with wonderful colors and excellent details

My privilege to be your neighbour on the gallery today, Gert.
More so because it is now on rare occasions that we get to see your class apart work.
The Greylag Goose in flight has been captured so well in this shot every colour and minute detail on its outspread wings is sheer magic. Images of flying birds with such clarity are seldom seen.
I'm keeping well; thanks for you concern. Hope your wrist is now free from trouble.

Hej Gert,
It's nice to see the in-flight dorsal aspect of Grågåsen as here taken with superb sharpness against a pleasing OOF natural BG of trees and branches in a nice composition.
It is not often one sees this POV that shows the wing and tail feathers so well spread out into a nice pattern.
Thanks and kind regards,

Hi neighbour
Greylag Goose comes to India in Winters (Nov.,Dec.,Jan.,And Feb.mostly )and i tried many times but i didn't get good shot as great you got .Lovely shot good details and sharpness with nice timing

nice capture, perhaps a little too sharpened, TFS Ori

Fantastic capture in flight with awesome detail carefuly measured dept of field and lovely composition friend Gert! Good day! Once again, very impressive presentation! If you have a chance, upgrade your 2x extender II with the latest version III. I did some tests with a 400mm f/2.8L IS II and the result clearly shows that the 2x extender III is the superior one between the two. Have a great evening my friend and thanks for sharing you professional work again!

Buen Domingo:

Josep Ignasi.

Hi Gert. This is top drawer capture of bird in flight. The markings on the wings are just awesome in full spreading wings. The focus and lenswork are just amazing with good framing leaving some room for the flight. I like it and thanks for sharing. Regards - Jusni

I remember your amazing duck/goose in flight pictures and this one is so wonderful. Fantastic freezing of the bird at one of the most impressive pose. Tack sharp details and nice some blurriness of the BG. Once more lesson from you for all of us. Thanks.
