Thanks for you kind word and comments of my previous post.
This is a Yellow Hammer picture was taken for a couple of weeks ago.
This is a colorful male in breeding plumage, I hope you like this beautiful bird.
I have not post so many pictures this year but it has to do with some personal reasons.
I hope to return more frequent later.

From Wikipedia.
The Yellowhammer, Emberiza citrinella, is a passerine bird in the bunting family Emberizidae. It is common in all sorts of open areas with some scrub or trees and form small flocks in winter.
The Yellowhammer is a robust 15.5–17 cm long bird, with a thick seed-eater's bill. The male has a bright yellow head, yellow underparts, and a heavily streaked brown back. The female is much duller, and more streaked below. The familiar, if somewhat monotonous, song of the cock is often described as A little bit of bread and no cheese.
Its natural diet consists of insects when feeding young, and otherwise seeds. The nest is on the ground. 3-6 eggs are laid, which show the hair-like markings characteristic of those of buntings.

Hello neighbour Gert,
One of the most beautiful photos of a Yellow Hammer I've seen. Fantastic sharpness, details and taken from a perfect POV. Attractive composition with eye contact. Splendid natural colours.
Have a good weekend,

This is the kind of work that once gave this site the glamour that, unfortunately, did not last long.
Your postings of this calibre are small mercies that I count now avidly.
Thanks, Gert!

Hi Gert,

Very good representation of this beautiful bird. In Holland the species is becoming quite rare. The pose of the bird and the colors and sharpness are convincing. TFS.

Hi Gert,

Very interesting bird and very well done.
Just to sound like a critique I would suggest that one stop wider aperture and a lower POV would probably improved your picture a bit.
Easy to say hard to do in the field. Your picture shows the bird very fine anyway. TFS this beauty.

Regards, Mario

Good evening Gert Ellstrom! What a pleasure to comment on an image like this one indeed. Even the small thumbnail seems brilliant and can be separated in many respects from the bunch ...let me tell you!!! Impeccable white balance superb brightness and spectacular clarity on the little Yellow Hammer plumage! Outstanding simplicity and point of view, my friend! Hope to see your work more often ...what a pleasure! All the best!

Hi Gert.
Superb 3D-image of a sweet bird. Fantastic details and colours as well as impressive low POV and composition. Personally I cannot cope with my new 400 mm (70-200 + TC 2x) yet. Your samples give a hope that my skill will be improved some time : ). Bravo.
