Thanks for the comments on my previous post.

This is a Common Blue butterfly, very common in my country but nevertheless it’s a beauty.
I was on our ButterflyRoad (Fjärilsvägen) to test my new small camera with a very old lens, it’s more than 25 y old. But it’s still going strong, the lens is the legendary Minolta 70-210/f4 aka “Beercan” build by Leica.
Not even my expensive Canon L-lenses had this beautiful bokeh.

Some info about the Common Blue.
Male uppersides are an iridescent lilac blue with a thin black border. Females are brown with a row of red spots along the edges. They usually have some blue at the base of the wings and, especially in Ireland and Scotland, are mostly blue but always have the red spots. Undersides have a greyish ground colour in the males and more brownish in the females. Both sexes have a row of red spots along the edge of the hindwings (extending onto the forewings though generally fainter, particularly in the males where they are sometimes missing altogether). There are about a dozen black centered white spots on the hind wings, nine on the forwings. The white fringe on the outer edge of the wings is not crossed with black lines as it is in the Chalkhill and Adonis Blues, an important difference when separating these species, particularly the females.

Best Regards and have a nice evening Gert,

Great, clean ... impeccable shot with tons of fine detail,
friend Gert! Sony SLT-A55V ... is this your new toy?
1/2500s and ISO400 is that necessary in this case indeed? Welcome back my friend!

Hej Gert,
A superb macro of a fresh female Puktörneblåvinge. The DOF and sharpness are perfect and the colours natural. Nice composition and BG.
Your old Minolta/Leica macrozoom seema a real quality lens even at the age of 25! The Sony seems to be a great 'compact' DSLR too!
Thanks and best regards,

Fjärilsvägen gäckar mig än i år men det är fortfarande mitt mål. Får se om det blir nästa år! Här är det busväder som ett slut till en fin solig varm vecka.

Bonjour Gert,

Nice close-up. Sharp subject on a nice "Bokeh". Good use of directionnal strong light. It contributes a lot to sharpness, not that you can't acheive it. You've prove so many time before your quatity regarding photo technics and control. The butterfly contrast beautifully against the greenish BG. It's not wanted, but that strong shade under you subject gives it a nice support to stand on (on a photographic POV of course). Very good work and TFS.

Hi Gert,
Its nice to find you back on TN.. where are the other guys? ! I too have been less frequent visitor these days :-).. coming to the picture ... this is a lovely picture with a wonderful directional space on the right.. and the f8 with both antennae inside DOF and the same time a diffused BG is a class act .. coz with the luxury of 1/2500 most people tend to close the aperture further which may introduce unwanted details in the BG!!
