Thanks for the comments on my previous post.
This beautiful blue is a rare butterfly but locally
it can show up in bigger numbers as in this area.
I think it is the most beautiful of all blue ones.
I hope you like it too. I add a female in WS.
It's a perfect gift to my self, I have been here in 7 years now. Time really flies.

The Silvery Argus (Aricia nicias) is a butterfly of the Lycaenidae family. It is found in the Alps, Pyrenees and from Scandinavia ranging to Siberia and the north of Mongolia.
The wingspan is 25–28 mm. The butterfly flies from May to August depending on the location.
The larvae feed on Geranium species.
The picture is taken with my new toy a SAL 70-400mm lens, maybe not the best for close-ups but it works.

Center Weight metering, ISO400 Raw-format, av-mode.

Hej Gert,
Congratulations to both your seven years on TN and the fine capture of Turkos blåvingen.
The sharpness and DOF are faultless, the colours natural and the BG excellent, though maybe the composition is slightly too central, a point that is a matter of opinion.
This is also a fresh male, indicating that you were at Grindugan just at the right time.
Excellent work my friend!
Best regards from a very rainy Skåne,
Hälsningar,
Ivan

Seven years and still going, Gert. Good for this site because stalwart pioneers of your calibre gave it the breath of life when it was born.
Your picture of this lovely Argus with its wings open reminds me of the heydays of TN. It is a flawless picture representing both the technical excellence and the aesthetics involved in high class nature imagery.
Best regards.

hello Gert,
Missed this fine picture of Aricia nicias which is quite rarely shown on this site. I had the chance to make a picture too in the past, but the quality of your shot is a lot better. What a magnificent blue-color and perfect sharpness of the wings.
Thanks too for your visit to my exuvia
Kind regards
Anne

Nature has made some wonderful creatures.... and for my part a butterfly that is blue is one of them. This gives it a most delicate, best of the china chest look. Pleasing to the eye and yet informative as well. Not a bad way to learn.
Bob

Hi, dear Gert.
My warm congratulations on 7th anniversary. You give the lead for all of us here in photography and humaneness. I also congratulate you on purchasing a stunning telezoom lens. It is truth but I am afraid to ask you what do you think about it in practice :). All the best to you as well as at least next seven years here.
Alexei.
