[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The picture was taken one evening when I saw two young bull moose that were grazing in the the forest edge. I tried to approach carefully and take pictures before I was discovered by them. All my previous experience regarding these animals have taught me that they are very vigilant and shy. I was therefore surprised when the moose stayed even though they caught sight of me, so I could get up close by moving carefully. I can not remember that I was able to shoot wild moose so close before, finally it was possible to take a portrait at one of them.

These animals will now have two months of peace in the forests before the hunting season begins in mid-October. I hope these moose will be more shy for hunters than they were for me.

What a great portrait! The frontal POV with eye contact is fantastic. Excellent sharpness with the best details. Splendid natural colours with a very nice blurred background.

Hi Peter,
I'm surprised you got 18 points only for that. This is a real outstanding shot. The animal looks magnificent. The low POV helps bringing that effect. Details are spot on. Even without considering how difficult moose are to shoot, this is already brilliant.
I wonder what all the white spots are. Little flies I guess.
