The Alpine ibex (Capra ibex) is a ruminant of the size of a goat (about a meter and a half long), but quite typical because of the knotted, long (up to meters) and heavy horns standing (even 15 pounds) to form of scimitar. The horns of the female serve only to defend their young and are rather short and pointed. The summer coat is gray or brown-gray with a black stripe on his belly, winter is clearer. Their structure is the same as the chamois, then there are rings and accruing annual and can therefore accurately assess age. On the horns of the males is also observed that the rings of "ornament" that increase usually every 2 years, however, is not an absolute rule. In the ibex hooves are broad and flexible articulation with independent adapted to travel on rocky slopes and impervious. Males have a sort of beard under the chin. In winter, to improve protection from the cold, you develop a thick fluff that animals lose later in the spring (when descending toward the valley floor to coincide with the season of play) rubbing against the rocks.
Yes eats the leaves, buds, branches, bark, lichen and conifer needles. Excellent climber and jumper, no distrust and bring you leave, because an animal is protected for a long time and is so accustomed to his presence - The rings of horn, will show the annual growth and hence the age. The male adult is impressive and the season of love, struggle mighty horn blows with their rivals and the noise of duels you hear from far away.
Males and females, usually in summer separate, the females remain with the young and the males form small Aggruppamento, while in winter sight also mixed flocks.

Splendide culori si deosebit de frumos peisaj !

If this is for real, then it is one very big surprising capture!!!! Benefit of the doubt I shall give you and in that one of the most spectacular chances of luck I have seen outside of magazines and art work. Surely you must tell us more!

Good Morning Adrian,
A fine capture of a snowy mountain scene, the shape of the vally and the snow almost looks like a glacier. The Appearance of the Chamoise on the bear rock on the left is great and is the main focal point of this fine composition.
Thanks and best regards,
Ivan

Lieber Adrian,
Sehr gekonnt, Adrian!

Beste Grüsse
Dieter

The Cornergratgletcher is a very beautiful gletcher. This photo is the evidence of it. Wonderful panorama with a perfect DOF. The serow is very big bonus and completed the composition in a fantastic way. Great photo!

Hi Adrian
A fine shot! Scenes like this sometimes need something in the foreground to give them perspective and the goat has provided this. Great detail and well exposed.
Kind Regards
Vinny

Hallo Adrian!

Markus

Hello Adrian,
So much detail to look at here. Very nice sharpness and texture of the snow and rock formation. The sheep/goat add a little liveliness to the composition as well as give a sense of scale. Contrast can be just a tiny bit stronger. Very good work. Many wonderful shots in your gallery. Congrats.

Lieber Adrian,
Anne

Hello Adrian,
Great to see some snow and a glacier(?) and a Chamoise at that height too! Fantastic capture!! Magical colours too and very well composed.
TFS and best wishes, Ulla

Bonsoir Adrian.

A bientôt.

Philippe.

Buna Adrian,
