I hope that I'm right with this ID. Lestes sponsa looks quite alike.

Very impressive point of view that shows all the features of this Damselfly sharply and distinctly, Anne.
Kind of spotlight effect on the abdomen and wings and the catch-light in the eye make this image quite artistic.
Thanks.
Ram

Hello Anne,
A very nice and sharp image with this Damselfly. As usual the clarity is outstanding. Very interesting POV. The light in the eye looks great.
Marius.

Liebe Anne,

Selective sharpening but added too much...otherwise good photo

hallo Anne

Hello Anne,
Incredible sharp detailed photo of this damselfly. Splendid colors against a nice blurred background. Good choice of composition.
Regards,
Peter

Ciao Arjun, great macro of elegant damselfly, fine details, splendid sharpness and wonderful natural colors, very well done, my friend, ciao Silvio

Hello Anne,
Most of the Damselfly photographs I have seen very tight framing due to its Horizontal POV. But here diagonal pose of the fly helped you to frame it nicely keeping well space in front of it. Well BG and good details.
Thanks for sharing with informative NOTE,
Regards,
Srikumar

Bonjour Anne,
Amicalement
Roland

Liebe Anne,
feine, subtile Präsentation dieses zarten Wesens.
Mit Dank und herzlichem Gruss,
Peter

Hi Anne,
I don't think this photo would be terribly oversharpened. Maybe a very little on the head and the abdomen. Am I considered a back slapper if I publicly say I like this pic? :-)
Have a prosperous new year, kind regards from Ireland, László
