Cris des couleurs
Et baume des brumes,
Tendresse des ténèbres
Et langueur des lumières.
Que d’embrouilles délirantes
Et de douleurs déchirantes !

Qu’as-tu fait de moi, Automne ?

Enfin, tes bourrasques me réveillent,
Et, les cheveux au vent,
Nos regards se croisent
Alors que l’horizon s’approche.
L’éphémère apparaît
Comme le portail de l’éternel.

Que fais-tu de moi, Automne ?

Ton appel était en vain,
Ton sermon n’était que vent !
Les écailles me tombent des yeux
Comme les feuilles dansent des arbres.
La douleur n’est pas la mort,
La grisaille pas la fin.

Que feras-tu de moi, Automne ?

Screams of the colors
And balm of the mist,
Tenderness of the dark
And melancholy of the light.
Just delirious chaos
And tearing pain !

Autumn, what have you made of me ?

Finally, your gusts of wind woke me up.
With waving hair
We watch each other
While the horizon’s approaching.
The ephemeral appears
As the gate to eternity.

Autumn, what do you do with me?

Your call was in vain,
Your sermon nothing but wind !
The scales are falling from my eyes
In a dance like leaves that fall to earth.
Pain doesn’t mean death,
Mist is not the end.

Autumn, what will you do with me ?

Kind regards

N.B.: Had a walk in the mountains through the foggy forest, took this picture in RAW with the help of a monopod, watched some chamois, went home, turned on the computer, converted it to TIFF, adjusted levels, added sharpness, lighted up the leaves, converted to JPG and cropped for TN, let it rest for 2 weeks, wrote a poem, posted it...

Hi Markus,
that's fantastic - almost a little mystical - I like it so much.
The yellow leaves in the front are so sharp and the eyecatcher - but than looking to the BG - like a dark tunnel ending in light, marvelous, realy very well done, thanks
Sabine - wishnugaruda

how could you do this? the soft-focussing and the partial coloration is very very nice and conspicuous!

Bonjour Markus,
Je ne répondrai pas en vers, je ne saurais le faire. Mais de ton image se dégage beaucoup de poésie et le contraste entre le clair et l'obscur se retrouve comme thème. Pas facile de transmettre cela au moyen de la photo. Tu as réussi, bravo.
Que t'apportera l'hiver? que du bon, j'espère

Hi Markus,
You took full advantage from this foggy day. The natural desaturtion from the fog and dark woods gave this photo a very serene mood. Most of the time forrest photos seem to cluttered because there is just too much to see, but the darkness and fog gave you the perfect opportunity to create a clean photo. I am particulary atracted to your composition and the depth you have created in it. The twig with the colors leaves pick up my eyes and point me toward the light where you can just see a hint of color again. The poem makes the journey compleet.

last of the autumn..leaves
and the promise of a winter to come
good foil of the leaves against the tunnel to the frost
most folks would walk past this and think..i cant get a shot today its to dull and no sun
well perceived

Wow...A powerful picture full of emotion. I can feel it in my bones...You have quite the knack for transporting us through words and pictures.

Hi Markus, nicely composed, i like the way the eye is drawn though the tunnel of darkness and leaves towards the misty brightness at the other end. Some nice layers created by the fog have added even more depth. Very moody, very well done.

Hi Markus

A well observed and composed shot. I like the misty tones and the tunnel effect you have achieved here. The few remaining leaves provide an excellent focus in the foreground. Well done.

I forgot write comment to this picture, when I saw it firstly.
Interesting light, wonderful color spot of yellow leaves. This place looks like illustration to Tolkien's books, we could meet elves and dwarves here...

Hello Markus,
This looks really magic, a tunnel through the misty forest. The bright colour of the beech leaves brings life to the darkness and at the end of the tunnel there is hope! A wonderful composition from a nice point of view.
TFS and best wishes, Ulla

I like this picture - it accompagnies the poem! The autumn feeling is something special - beautiful and mysterious at the same time.
I like the contrasts in the picture, the light, the mist, the dark forest and the bright coloured leaves.
Beautiful poem too! You`re a multi-artist :)

this is a very particula image of autumn, the effect that you rendered is really spectacular with the coloured leaves in foreground and the bak a bit dark

Bonjour Markus

Hallo Markus
This is a truly magical shot. It looks so mysterious and mystifying. The effect is brilliant. The colours are great and the composition spot on. You've chosen an excellent moment to capture this photo. The view is excellent and I love the light playing games with one's eyes in the background. Thanks for sharing. Best regards.
