[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hi all!

I know it's a strange title, because one can't see very much through that window.

I know that usually windows are an aperture to another world, the way where the light comes through.

I know that windows normally offer a view at a landscape, at a town or at the neighbour's house.

I know that a normal window can be opened or closed.

This one here doesn't fulfil any of these criterions. But I was looking through it for a long time before and after I took the picture...

Kind regards

Markus

N.B. After a couple of weeks I returned for the first time to my favourite river Ärgera. I was accompanied by my Sony Alpha 700. I took a couple of pictures of small ice surfaces (maybe 20cmx20cm), using my Minolta Macro 100mm f 2.8. The picture has been taken in RAW, handheld, was postprocessed in CS3 (level corrections, sharpness). The layer of ice - about 2cm thick - let the stones of the river shine through.

Hallo Markus,
was Du alles anstellst mit der gefrorenen Gérine, ist unglaublich. Dein Auge müsste man haben für solche Dinge! Ich glaube der Kurs mit Dir und Anne in Bürchen wird nötig sein. Toll gemacht!
Herzlich grüsst
Dieter

Maybe it's wonderful that the window is closed and we even can't see landscapes through it - we can sit and think what can we see if somebody open it. And imagine different countries or lands that we'll never see.

Interesting work Markus!

Very different and interesting composition, Marcus. Thanks for sharing

Hi Markus

Now this is a photo for my taste :) I truly like this one!
A great abstract accompanied by a very good note...a bit of mystery and just enough information for our imagination :)

I also see that you took this shot with a very nice new equipment...Is it yours? Did you just purchase it? If yes, then a big congratulations for it!
The results given to you by this good macro lens are terrific and i like the way the texture of the ice is so nicely visible.
The very small bubbles of air are absolutely fantastic and the colors beyond are amazing! Very well composed and exposed, as well!

Bravo, my friend and TFS
Horia

Magnifique, comme c'est original, les couleurs sont extraordinaires et la composition fantastique.
Bravo
Marie

Hello Markus,
This is a fine abstraction, with attractive shapes and lines showing that nature is the greatest artist!
Attractive colour palette, sharp fine details...
Greetings,
Pablo -

Hi Markus!
Not all windows were made for those reasons you specified. Your window is similar in function that great artists of history made windows for. To see what I mean, please see the workshop... TFS!

Best regards,
Andor

Hello Markus! Amazing picture. Wonderful effect. Excellent art work. Original work. Congratulations. Good luck!

You are the true master of this technique and style...I have seen none better, not here nor on any T' site nor anywhere I else I frequent...you just plain and simple have this down pat!

J'adore Markus, merci!

Hello Markus,
This is a lovely frosted window, not all clear so that you've got to use your imagination! Beautiful composition in lovely colours and interesting patterns.
Many thanks and regards, Ulla

Hi Markus,
A feel like in a modern art exhibition!
I like a lot your particular eye to find and present us this kind of images made with every day objects and situations.
It's so good the colours, lights and reflections seen through the window.
Congratulations and thanks for share.
My best regards,
JM

Hi Markus,
Very artistic shot and the spalsh of colour with the glass effect making it look majestic. These abstract images catch the imagination well and add a fine perspective. Magnificent composition. Kudos.
TFS.

Hi Markus,
I like the two different color tones in this photo a lot. The blue really brings the yellow alive. The clarity of the ice and the water below it is amazing, something you will not find in the lowlands. The curve from the different layers of ice makes the composition perfect.
TFS,
Niek
