The mirror

The mirror is broken,
The reflection has gone,
The image stays blurred.

Where’s the joy?
Is this the death?

The ice will melt,
And I’ll be gone.

Hi all!

This picture has been taken in RAW, postprocessed in CS3, especially with level correction and sharpness. To accentuate the colors and the contrast I have attenuated the bright tones. Then saved as TIFF (who knows, perhaps it will be printed one day), cropped and saved as JPG for TN.

It was taken at a dingly place down at my river Ärgera. The earth around the small ice surface was more mud than anything else. But that little ice surface of about 5mx2m allowed me to take a wonderful (in my eyes!) series of pictures. Here, I've photographed a surface of about 10cmx15cm.

Kind regards

Markus

Hi Markus!

Very interesting shapes, with beautiful clearance. Looks like a big leaf. Maybe I wouldn't stand on it to take the shot...
The warm colors are nice too. Oh, and the bubbles, they are fine also.

Best regards,
Andor

This is (in my eyes too) a wonderful image. I love the patterns and the nice neutral tones beneath the ice. Good eye, nice work, and thanks for sharing.

Hi Markus

Another stunning natural abstract. Great exposure and focus here. Outstanding.

hello markus,
the patterns created by broken ice has been captured well and looking at it with you notes gives it a different impact altogether, very nicely done,

Buena semana: Josep Ignasi

hallo Markus,
hab herzlichen Dank
Liebe Grüsse
Anne

Hi Markus

Another great abstract shot from you my friend!
This definitely tickles my imagination again, but without any difficulty i saw a heart here...so if you ever want another title for it, you can always call it the broken heart :) If you're curious where it is, i'll send you a photo :)

That aside, i really like the interesting mosaic created by all the cracks. The pattern of colors beyond is also mysterious and adds to the attraction of the image.
Nicely done, my friend!

Bravo and TFS

Hello Markus,
Beautiful capture of this very elaborate pattern in the ice! Very well chosen and I like the sharpness and the colours as well as the bubbles in the ice. I really miss these kind of sights this year - no ice here at all!
TFS and regards, Ulla

Hello Markus,
We can have some great opportunities for captures like this when the daytime temperature is above 0C while the night temp goes below!
Nature's own artwork is always impressive, with amazing shapes and colours...
This is well framed with sharp fine details!
Greetings,
Pablo -

Markus,
This is an amazing compostition!!And I just love the note....You're very creative!
Thank you,
Goldy

Bonsoir Markus

Hi Markus,
your style is really starting to get very distinctive and well honed. Sharp detail and clarity are an absolute must for this kind of shot and you have done both perfectly here. Framing is excellent and exposure very good too - great job.
Paul

Bonjour Markus,

What is this mirror? Was it made by trolls or dvarves? Or maybe it is the main mirror on Snow Kingdom and is is broken bacause the winter is over? I don't know. But I like it...

Hi Markus,

Very nice composition, looks like stainglass!
Lovely pattern!
Nice warm colours under the cold icy water!
