[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Little known backyard inhabitants:

It's time for me to present some butterflies and moths that live and reproduce or at least visit my backyard. This is the fantastic Degeer's longhorn fairy moth (Lepidoptera; Adelidae; Nemotois (=Nemophora, Adela) degeerella L; Langhorn- Feemotte). The 5 mm long female has impressive antennae held in front of its body while flying. But have a look at the male antennae that are even much longer!

The moth was regularely found on rasberry plants in June but the eggs seem to be deposited in leaf litter.

Hello Dietrich,
Excellent macro of this Moth from a nice POV showing the long, hairy antennae very clearly. Fine details and colours too and well composed. We had one of this species in our garden last summer, first time I'd seen it. Great capture in the Workshop too!
TFS and regards, Ulla

Hello Dietrich,
Imaginative POV in this capture of N. deegerella and I like the way you focused on the head and antennae of this female instead of relying on the DOF to do give you a complete image if you focused on the rear. The lighting and colours are also great.
A fine piece of work and thanks for sharing it!
Best regards,
Ivan

Hello Dietrich,
Very good presentation of this species, with the femelle and the male. Not easy to take this macro shot. I like the both photos specially those with the male, with impressive antennae! Best regards,
Catherine

Sensibilidad.

Lieber Dieter,
Zwei hochintressante Wesen zeigst Du uns hier.
Anne
