Hi all!

We have the first heavy snowfalls. I'm glad about that and can't wait to prepare my skis. But when I look at this picture, I'm also glad that my wife and I had that kind of weather to highlight the autumnal colours of the forests in the Swiss National Park in the Kanton of Graubünden.

We were so fascinated by the colours of the larches as well as by the colour of the sky. I rarely have seen such a clean, deep and crystal clear blue. When I told this to my son after we were back home again, he told me that a friend of him who comes from that region has already told him about the particular light conditions in the Engadin, the famous valley in Graubünden with villages like St. Moritz, Silvaplana and Samedan.

I have taken some pictures - principally on the famous "Panoramaweg" (panoramic way) - with a deep blue sky that I almost can't show to my friends of the photo club because I'm afraid they would believe I have pushed the postprocessing. I also was surprised to hear other people talking about the wonderful sky and the particular lighting.

Kind regards

Markus

Ciao Markus,
TFS.
Maurizio

Hi Markus,
An impressive scen shot of a forest enriched with autumnal colurs on a more vertical slope with great perspective. I also liked dark blue sky with moon. An astounding beautiful landscape shot indeed.
TFS and cheers my friend!

A fascinating POV you chose here Markus, love the mix of colours and the moon is really the icing on the cake. I guess we shall start to see some of your amazing snow scenes soon...can't wait!
Paul

WOW... those Larches are great looking in their autumn gold. And I love the cameo appearance of the moon... :) Lighting is great... on very rare occasions here the sky gets a deep blue and the late afternoon light shines brillantly on the background landscape. Sometimes with an approaching or passing storm. Perhaps that is what you had in this photo. Wonderful capture Markus... TFS.

Hi Markus

So it's already snowing there, huh? Quite strange, since i'm living in the N-W of Romania and we had 25+ degrees yesterday...???

Anyway, i'm happy if you're happy, but i'm also glad you managed some nice autumn colors photos before it.
This one here is very delicate and beautiful!
The gorgeous patterns and tones from the forest in the BG are so well bordered by the trees in the FG, all under the supervision of the wonderful mood.
Spot-on exposure here, terrific DOF and charming composition.

Bravo and TFS

Hello Markus
Splendid shot of autumn colors taken from a fantastic POV embracing the Moon in the sky. I like a lot the light and colors on the near branches.
Very well seen and done.
TFS and best regards
Maite

Grand view looking upward, Markus.
The sky with half a moon in it is truly fascinating and contrasts well with the autumnal hues of larches on the earth.
The branches of the trees in close range frame the view very well.
Have a great skiing season and all the best.

Hi Markus,
I would have never expect you to post a photo with a clear blue sky. But, I have to admit it does fit this photo perfectly. The strong yellow color of the larches contrast beautifully with the blue sky. And, the clear sky does allow for a free view of the shapes of the branches. I like the way you used a natural framing and I like the central position of the moon.
TFS,
Niek

Hello Markus,

It sounds like you had a wonderful outing. The air does look clear and the yellow larches are nice against the blue. It is nice to see the details of the larch with the others in the distance.

TFS
