TACHINA FERA (Linaeus, 1761)

Igelfliege

Family: Tachinidae
Size: 9-14mm
Distribution: Europe, Asia

This fly lays its eggs in living caterpillars in which the larvae develop and finally kill their host.

The picture has been taken on a meadow covered especially by daisies and Rhinantus flowers at the time, which gave this special color to the background.
The composition is not made after the rules, but I often like to break them..

Hi,
I will die to get this kind of background for my subjects, wonderful. Well, the rules are meant to be broken but for very good effect.
It is said "photography composition is an expression of our natural sense of design".
I feel the background here is dominating (beautifully) the subject which you had captured well with all the details.
I did one WS giving importance to the fly, hope you don't mind expressing my thoughts. tfs.

Hello Anne,
This is a wonderful picture. A great contrast between a black fly and a white flower. Well seen in this natural setting.

Hi Anne,
another lovely composition of the fly. Beautiful in colours and great sharpness rendered here.
the bokeh is so effective and it makes this shot very classical in isolating the subject.
nice composition indeed.

Foozi

Bonjour Anne,

Bravo

Bonjour Anne
Jacqueline

Hallo Anne,
intressant, interessant!

Dieter
