Hello Markus,
To me 'melancholy' implies mainly gloom or sadness and I don't quite agree here! In our Pine forest close by we have plenty of Cotoneaster and Berberis bushes (seeds spread by birds) and to me their bright colours in autumn really only bring joy on all the grey days! It reminds me of a poem -
"Dein Auge kann die Welt
Trüb oder hell Dir Machen
Wie Du sie ansiehst
wird Sie weinen oder lachen".
And - your capture makes me happy!

A very fine capture of autumnal beauty! I suppose autumn is a time of melancholy with the onset of darkness and the closing down of many forms of life, but for me this beautifully composed show of colour is uplifting and I thank you for that!

Bonjour Markus, je ne suis pas surprise de retrouver des photos de toi aussi splendides, encore une fois, qu'elles le sont depuis longtemps. Les couleurs sont profondes, j'adore le fushia des feuilles du dessus tout devant celles qui sont plus dorées. l'automne nous présente des couleurs fantastiques et cette photo en témoigne bien. J'adore aussi la photo précédente, j'y retournerai! Alloooo!

Hi Markus. I hope all is going wee after your hospital stay. I do always fine your notes interesting to read . This is a wash with warm colours. Each small leaf being a different colour. The plant is getting ready for its rest to be ready for the spring . yet we have to keep going all year round. TFS.

Lieber Markus,
Farbenfreudig Dein Bild und eine Berberitze so schön, wie diese Büsche nur im Herbst sind. Ein feines Licht fällt auf die Mitte des Bildes, was eigentlich ein gutes Omen war! Sehr subtiles Bild.
Ich habe auch Bilder von diesem Busch gemacht, werde sie später mal bringen.
Freue mich, dass es von Tag zu Tag besser geht und wünsche Dir nur das Beste.

thanks for your critique. i like it very much and also how much I appreciate it. The moment I posted it, I have been thinking about the critiques.There are mixed reactions and I love noting them all and it is such a lovely experience to me.
The blurry bees really sting me : ).
Truly, TN members notes are useful indeed.
As for this one, it is such an artistic view that invites a never ending search in the composition. The beautiful light with beautifully coloured leaves, give a beautiful presentation from you.

I welcome your note and thoughts a lot. However, the perception of an environment and different scenes and images is often defined by mood. For me your shot reflects the beauty of the season. Some autumn scenes are really sad but yours is very impressive. Colours are very pleasant, rich and nice. Especially I like velvet texture of the picture. Well done and TFS.

I've been out with a bad flu the past few weeks so i see i've missed a few nice posts from you, but now that i'm ok i checked your gallery and this image really captured my eyes right away! It's an abstract, yes, but not something i've seen you usually take. However, judging after how great this looks, it would appear that you take such shots for many years :)
This is a delicate balance of color, texture and depth of field that truly evokes autumn. I really love the soft light on the central branch and the lines that create this beautiful composition.
The title also works very well and i understand your choice and feelings.

Merci pour cette photographie magnifique de l'automne.

Dans tes commentaires, tu nous parle de mélancolie (même si tu tempère un peu le terme). A mon sens, l'automne ne doit pas être ni triste ne mélancolique : ce n'est qu'une partie du cycle de la vie, sous nos latitudes. Et la chute des feuilles puis leur décomposition sont gage de prospérité future.

Il est par ailleurs curieux de voir la différence d'appréciation des saisons sous nos latitudes et dans les contrées proches de l'équateur, où les différences sont moins prononcées et de nature différente.
