excellent sharpness and a real beauty in its natural chirping pose.
i like the real big eye of this species.
The slanding composition of the piping is very graphic and it adds some visula impact to the shot. Besides, the blurry background the light enhance the beauty very much.
Well composed nature.

Hi Alexei. It's perfect! In details and great light management. Very good colours and intresting BG.
A fine, technically excellent, capture with your old equipment. This is so good that it amazes me that you didn't post this earlier! The upright pose and the tail suggest that this is a juvenile Northern Wheatear (Oenanthe oenanthe). The light coloured eyebrow has not appeared yet as this individual was only 2 months old when you took this.
Excellent eye-contact and composition with the OOF neutral BG.
Thanks and have a good weekend,

What a beautiful view of the Northern Wheatear very sharply in focus and against a fine soft background. I love the colours and the composition. The poor bird is panting in the heat! I suppose you were panting too!

It's been a while since you have presented one of your mini-series. I'm looking forward to this one after such a wonderful beginning. I see Ivan has identified this beauty as a young Wheatear. A marvelous pose, fantastic facial expression with the opened beak, lovely natural colors, excellent details of face, eye and feathers and a superb composition.

Good Morning Alexei,
The need to drink, gave you a fine opportunity for photography! The sharp focus and beautiful plummage details are very well presented.
The catchlight gives the bird a very alert appearance. Superb dof.

Hello Alexei !
What a picture, and what a story ! I'm happ we didn't have such a summer in France, as I really don't like hot weather. But it allowed you to take pictures of this very elegant bird. You captured him in a great pose, head up and beak open, with pin sharp details, natural colors, and in a wonderful composition. Very well done !

Hi again Alexei,
Definitely you are exploiting these summer days in their entirety. Excellent photo with wonderful details. I still insist that the colors are incredibly natural. Shows the structure of the bird, its texture, you can almost feel the movement. My congratulations for this excellent work.

Very nice capture of singing Northern Wheatear :> I like exposition and clarity my Friend. You have done a very good work - light, sharpness and DOF are very good. And even if the specimen is not very colourful, it is still a little, cute beauty :)
Best congratulation because of new species for you!

It is always a pleasure to dive into your gallery where you always have a fine array of chosen presentations.I also find myself scanning for stories you bring along with them making one get the exact feel of the ambience in which you locked that moment in your camera.
The little wheatear looks crisp. You made best use of the sunny opportunity and your good old equipment. The subject is an outstanding combination of technical and aesthetic qualities.I must add that the wavy line on that BG is slightly distracting though. But one would notice that only on a second glance since your birdie takes away all the attention in the first look.
Thanks much for sharing

When I saw the thumb nail I wrongly assumed that you had registered your subject in a "WHISTLING" mode; however, upon reading your notes I discovered the real reason of its wide open beak.
This species, I believe, migrated into Canada via Alaska from Russia. At first I thought it was a baby female Oriole; on closer inspection it is for sure a Northern Wheatear. I have one of them in my library of images. Shall post it someday. It came to visit us many, many times in the backyard for food.
This fellow was "posing" just for you.
HIGHLY IMPRESSIVE IMAGE. Very well done and its presentation is of EXCELLENT QUALITY.
Best regards from Calgary,
P.S. Looks like my mother-in-law will pass away within days... according to the doctors.... but then what do they really know???
Only HE knows for sure when this will happen. She has lost her ability to walk....

Hi Alex again,
I remember that summer / autumn. It was hot and dry here in Hungary, too. This one, in 2009, wasn't really better either (just a bit), but on the other side 2008 was a year I never forget. Bearable heat and a lot of rain, so I found such ultra-rarities even in the city park.
Clear capture with fantastic sharpness, plenty of details and neat background as always from You, not to mention excellent composition with more sőpace in front of than behind the bird. Artistic and elegant shot, pleasant to look at. Congrats and tfs.
Best wishes from Your Hungarian friend, Vladyslav
