I wanted to share pictures of Bumble Bee long time but I could not imagine that it will be such scene. Nevertheless, I also could not pass this scene and not share it with you. All is fine in this scene (at my taste) – a flower as a wonderful decoration (Malva), goldenrod crab spider and bumble-bee excepting the fact the last hero is dead.

However, these are laws of wild nature and we can wish only that such laws would leave a human society as soon as possible.

Have a good weekend (and legislation too).

Hi Alex,i see yesterday on TV a documentary about these spiders so differents...really interesting that these spiders do not weave the web but are camouflaged with the colors of the flowers and wait patiently for their prey. The pic is truely fantastic, impossible to make better, what a sharpness, colors and composition!!And you can see that the color of the heasth of malva is the same of spider. Thanks for share, have a nice weekend,LUCIANO

Ciao Alex. The best DOF and stunning detaisl for this dramatic situation. Wonderful colour and light.

Hallo Alexei
Absolutely perfect. The combination of colours in this image is great and brought across beautifully. The presentation is pleasant and very precise. The composition spot on. All round 10/10. I cannot find fault. It is a very lucky spider and pity for the bee it caught but hey that is nature. Your photography here has brought out all 3 subjects details and colours beautifully. A great 3 in 1 special. Thanks for sharing. Best regards.

Lively bright colors Alexei, well composed frame.
Excellent details, great looking bumble bee too.
But I can't feel sorry for em'

He knew the risks ;-)
Also like how that bees gold bands of color compliment the flowers center here..
Beauty & tragedy says it all, well done & have a great weekend!

Hello Alexei,
Wonderful photo in splendid colours and with a dramatic scene. Very beatiful in perfect sharpness and DOF. Excellent composition.

Alexei, this is an impressive and aesthetically pleasing documentation of Nature and its ways. A Crab Spider has enticed this Bumblebee to make a meal out of it and it has succeeded. I had also captured a similar scene a couple of years ago, but your image of this existential drama is far superior than mine in terms of the merits of outstanding nature photography. Both the predator and the prey are in sharp focus and the flower provides the authentic background for this action.
Well done and thanks for sharing this super image.

Hallo Alexei,

Hi Alexei,

A beautiful picture and wonderful remarks and title. There is so much beauty in nature and too much tragedy. I don't think there is much we can do but accept what is, at times shed some tears, and always appreciate the beauty. You captured the sad moment perfectly memorializing the little bee. The lower is amazing with the lovely shades of pink and the fine details.

Alexei, my "dear" friend,

Hi Alexei,

A natural scene you caught here showing the predator-prey intereaction well. I think the ambusher crap spider found the poor bombus tasty here:) Incredible macro in every way!
TFS and have a nice Saturday evening!

Hello Alexei,
Fantastic capture, with so nice colours and 3D effect. The scene is so alive even if it means the death of this pretty bumblebee. I suppose the crab spider was hidden in the yellow heart of the mallow... Well done! Have a nice Sunday,

Hello Alexei,
Sometimes beautiful and tragic are linked and this is a very good illustration for it. Lovely and fine tints of the Malvae-flower and ambushed in it the "vicious" crabspider which has already was successful. Fine sharpness and interesting narrow view with a perfect depth of field.
Kind regards

Hello Alexei,
I missed this beauty when I was with my family!
A superb capture of the crab spider, its bumblebee prey, and the wondeflu floral BG, the arena where this drama is taking place. technically first class with superb sharpness and colours in a pleasing composition.
Thanks and I hope the weather cools down for you soon!
With best regards,

hello Alexei, my friend
nice to see you and your great posts again. sorry my silence. during summer, I often went to field trip and scientific facilities. therefore I had not too much time on TN. Recently I am here again.
I missed this wonderful shot. this is extraordinary work indeed, with splendid coloration, light using and exposure as like exellent razor sharp details. this is great trio of Bumblee bee, thomisid spider and malva flower. I am pleasured to see this post. thanks so much for sharing this beautiful image. best regards my friend

Hi Alex,
Fantastic macro as always from You. Everything is top notch: sharpness, compo, colors, lights, story... Yes, this is the law of wild nature - but if the spider doesn't attack and eat, he'll be the dying one... Incredible presentation, and the subject's extraordinary. Congrats and tfs.
Friendly regards, László
