[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Hummingbird Hawk-moth (Macroglossum stellatarum) is a species of Sphingidae. Its long proboscis and its hovering behavior, accompanied by an audible humming noise, make it look remarkably like a hummingbird while feeding on flowers. It is theorised that this resemblance is a result of convergent evolution. It flies during the day, especially in bright sunshine, but also at dusk, dawn, and even in the rain, which is unusual for even diurnal hawkmoths. Its visual abilities have been much studied, and it has been shown to have a relatively good ability to learn colours.[

Hi Sergiy,

What a superb shot you have got here. I thing this moth is the most exciting moth in the world. I had a close encounter with one of these not long ago (they are rarely seen in the UK as far as I know) and I almost lost my heart.

You photo has fantastic sharpness and shutterspeed and dof are just right.

Thanks for sharing

Aleks

Hello Sergiy,
Excellent capture of this amazing moth, with good sharpness on his head and proboscis. Very nice colours. Cheers,
Catherine

Amazing shot! Lights, colors, depth, a moment - all have been captured superbly.
Cheers, Andriy

Hello Sergiy
A butterfly that I "hunted" this summer with the camera, but without good results. At least, not so clear and well balanced as your picture. Congratulations!
