The White House Visitor Center is famous on over the world. My small countryside White House is almost unknown on the world :). However, it also is very hospitable and moreover it receives quests irrespective of ethnic nationality, skin tone and even intricate shapes. I hope that well-known The White House cannot brag of such visitors as mine can.

This is my second meeting with this insect:
Robots attack,
Break-dance or Dance of Winners.

I think this is the same species – Lucanus cervus.

Lucanus cervus is the best-known species of stag beetle in the West (family Lucanidae), and is sometimes referred to simply as the stag beetle. It lives in holes in old trees and dead trunks, in the forest as well as in groves. Forest management, in eliminating old trees and dead wood, eliminates at the same time the habitat and food of this species. Once quite common, the population of the Lucanus cervus, along with that of other species of beetles which feed on wood, is in steep decline, and is now listed as a globally threatened/declining species.

Despite the shared shot is looked like picture form manual of zoology I must register new visitor at my visitors TN-book by existing tradition :). By the way, forgive me texture and colour of walls of my house which contrast with Nature’s works strongly.

Hallo Alexei
Another great macro work from you!
The details here are impressive and the point of view excellent. Also the natural colours look lovely, and the contrast between the beetle and the light background it is on is great. Thanks for sharing. Best regards.
Anna

Dear Alexei,
It's great to be your neighbour. :-) Simplistic yet very powerful macro photo with great sharpness and nice details, not to mention proper exposure. Minimalistic yet very pleasant. Great effort. Congratulations.
Best regards, László

Hallo Alexei

Hello Alexei

The Stag beetle is really a amazing insect with lots of intricate profiles and prickly shapes making up its form especially the wine coloured horns in front and those comblike antlers. Nice capture inspite of the BG with the texture coming out nicely.

Thanks
Himanshu

Hello Alex,
Interesting guests you have in your White House :-). A species I haven't seen for years.
Excellent sharpness and the colours appear so natural. Not an easy task with this dark/white contrast.
Well done again.
Kind regards
Anne
