[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
At first glance the Dunnock, also known as Hedge Sparrow or Hedge Accentor, looks like a dull sleek sparrow.

On closer inspection it is quite attractive with its blue-grey head and breast, light and dark brown streaky back, brown streaked flanks and pink legs. The black bill is finer than that of a sparrow, because it feeds mainly on insects and not seed.

Hi Les,

A picture of my favorite bird. nicley shown in its habit of sitting on the top of bushes. Nice eye contact with a nice catchlight, only spoilt by its tail movement (a way to distinguish between the real headge sparrow and the dunnock is the way they flick their tails whilst sitting and feeding). Good colours and a good natural bg.
Thanks for sharing
Regards Bill.

Hello Les,
Nice photo of this Dunnock. Fine sharpness in beautiful light. Attractive eye contact.

Hello Les,

Beautiful species this Hedge Sparrow. Quite well captured despite little bit softness (may be due to shutter speed 1/100). Beautiful light and I always prefer such natural habitat photograph. Nice BG too. Les, if I face low light, then I use high ISO; ISO 800....1000....EVEN I USED 4000 TOO, to get fast shutter speed.
Thanks for sharing with useful NOTE,

Nice composition although I would crop the extreme right flower to focus better on the bird. Nice light too. A bit soft, maybe due to handheld lens?.
