[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note

Thanks to everyone who commented on my last post, much appreciated. Today i thought i would post something a bit different for two reasons.
The first is that my fellow Dorset dweller, Nick Glen, has stepped outside his usual genre of fantastic bird photography and posted a landscape. This inspired me to have a look through my own photo's for shots i've taken of birds in the past.
The second, is that outside at the moment, it is pretty bleak. Grey, cold and the air is filled with a light drizzle. Typical January weather in the UK.
So, with an eye to the future and Spring, which seems so distant right now but is not really that far away, i thought i'd share this.
I took this whilst visiting the Swannery at Abbotsbury late last May. Here, on the edges of a lagoon called Moonfleet, wedged between the 21 mile long Chesil Beach and the hills behind, many many wild Swans arrive each year to construct their nests and have their young in safety. You can wander freely amongst them and sit and watch as Cygnets of various stages of development waddle around. These two were fast asleep and were just too cute to resist...

Thanks for looking, have a great weekend :o)

Hello Paul,
A lovely capture of these very cute Cygnets keeping close together for safety and comfort!
Excellent details and beautiful light and colours.
I remember a really good day birding at Abbotsbury and I especially recall the lovely song of the Blackcap so it must have been in the spring.
TFS and best wishes, Ulla

Lovely shot of these two fluffy cygnets. Excellent composition and most fine light and subtle colors. I like a lot this expressive bird-picture.

Hello Paul,
Yes, really something different. Very nice to see these cygnets in such a cute pose. The light is very beautiful, almost golden. The colours contrast beautiful against the dark BG. Excellent sharp details, POV and a good composition.

Hello Paul,
The exceptional detail in this beautiful image is evident from the finly textured down on the young swans. Love the way the trailing edges are illuminated, especially on the one to the right. Perfectly composed with just the right amount of exposure. Superb image!!
