I found this shiny little bug crawling about on the inside of a flower last spring. If anyone can put a name to him (or her) I would be grateful.

Hi John. I think you will find its a P. formosus Weevil. Found on deciduous tree especially Birch. Anyway taken with good detail and bright colours. Its large black eyes stand out. TFS.

I'm glad that Nicholas could help you with the ID. I remember that Dieter (meyerd) also posted a picture ofthis insect. Your picture is superb, and the delicaze colours of the flower suit the beetle at best. I also appreciate the subtle lighting a lot.
