Hello,

this was taken about a mile further down the coast from where my last post was taken from, in an area called 'The Spittles', a large rock pool and ledge system thats fully exposed at low tide. We sat here and watched the goings on in the tidal waters here for some time, with small fish and various crustaceans flitting about their business.

It must be a strange and hard world to exist in. Exposed to the dessicating wind and sun at low tide, baking hot in summer and icey cold in winter. Sometimes it might rain enough to dilute the water making it nearly fresh enough to drink, whilst at others the sun can evaporate too much water, turning it into a salty soup.
But, at every low tide, oxygen and nutrient rich waters rush in as regular as clockwork, which makes this an environment worth sticking it out for.

Hopefully one day we might get a 'Coast' or 'Shore' Category on TrekNature!

shot in RAW, adjusted curves a tad, converted to JPEG resized and sharpend.

Thanks for looking

Beautiful Paul....and again I like the way the colours of the "things" underwater are right there as a part of the whole image...It gives it a very good balance...add this to your collection of fine seascapes!

Hi Paul. You were lucky to get the light yesterday. but looking at the blue sky in the picture you did better on the coast than inland a few miles. so much to look at in the low tide shot. the bolder is a must well done .TFS.
Nick..

Superb control of the light and reflections...the foreground is nicely focused and shows great detail...I like the way the clouds reflect in the water...a very fine coastal shot, TFS

Hi Paul,
Magnificent image of this seascape.
I like the way you managed the proportions here, with a good view of the underwater plants at first plane, and the contrast made by the green and reddish there.
The almost round rock works great as the center of interest here.
Congratulations and thanks for share.
My best regards,
JM

Paul you do these so well. I never knew Lyme Regis was so beautiful. The circular polariser has really helped you to reveal the wonderful details under the water. The red and green seaweed looks amazing. Perfectly composed and well managed exposure.

Hi Paul

I really like the way that you havecaptured the seaweed. The rock provides a great focus and the diagonal created by the edge of the wave-cut platform leads the eye to the clouds.

Hello Paul,
Ah mate an excellent image once again the scenery is wonderful and what a large tidal flat. These creatures endure great hardship to reap the rewards of the rich tidal zone waters. Thank for sharing this superb image my friend.

Good morning, Paul!

Thank you for this beautiful picture, I like it very much. There's no uninteresting spot in it: it pleases from the very foreground up to the last cloud of the dramatic sky. The perspective is superb, too.

Kind regards

Markus

Hello Paul,

It seems that you can go wherever you will on your Dorset coast and you always will find an most beautiful subject. Happy you to live so close to the sea. I like the composition of your picture including the red and green vegetation in the front, marking the center with the round stone and the lovely sky in the background. You are right, they should create a category "coast"
Have a nice day
Anne

Another perfect land/Seascape Paul, you really use those filters expertly my friend, not a frequently seen occurrence indeed! TFS and cheers,

This is wonderful Paul. The dullness in the upper center of the sky looks a little unusual to me though.??????

Incredibly beautiful Paul, there are so many things to look at yet it is in perfect order for the eye! I first saw the rock, then slid down to look at the beautiful weeds in the water, then up in the sky where the clouds are sliding into the blue sky, then the cape and the low tide... wow, this is a rich and fantastic shot, thank you!
