[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a great Gray owl - a flying duvet. She is a huge owl but nothing but feathers, in fact she only weighs about two and a half pounds despite standing about 18 inches high from foot to head.

Great Grays are know for their incredible hearing - they can hear a heartbeat of a vole moving inder the snow from 100 yards!

She was taken at the Hawk Conservancy Trust near Andover Hampshire.
