Experiment using adaptor ring from EOS to M42 Mount
Long Metal Tube and lens on end of tube

canon eos20d body in manual mode
ACDSEE Imaging
get an adaptor ring to convert your eos camera to fit M42 screw fit this is the only thing you need to buy.
once youve converted to M42 screw fit you can get any old lenses from junk shops from old Zenit,Pentax,Praktica, any old camera with M42 screw fit,the lens off of any of these will do.....
you then need to get hold of an old teleconverter from a junk shop with m42 screw fittings, strip out the lenses inside the teleconverter and then you have your tube, screw your lens in the end of the tube screw the tube onto the camera you have a cheap macro lens the longer the tube the more the magnification.
you focus the subject by moving in and out from it like you would use a magnifying glass
my spider is about 8 times magnified but depends on how long your tube
to make tube longer use 2 stripped out teleconverters
another way to get CHEAP MACRO is once you converted to M42 screw fit you can buy cheap s/hand telephoto lenses with macro function on them
because these are manual and for old cameras they are very cheap second hand.Once you convert Your EOS to Pentax,Zenit,Praktica M42 screw fit you can use your camera in manual mode and you can get loads of cheap lenses and fittings in junk shops and second hand and you can play and experiment for ages
you can do this with other makes of digital camera can get converter rings for most makes
