Excellent shot! You've captured this Kingfisher very well indeed. Focus is spot on, and the sharpness is amazing. Colours and exposure are good too. About the only thing I'd suggest is perhaps a little more DOF to get the back of the head sharp too, although I realise that the light levels must have been quite low from your exposure info - maybe bumping to ISO400 would have helped (not sure how noisy 400 is on a 1Ds though). Anyway, a very good shot indeed :-D

Excellent shot, Phil, of a very colourful bird we don't get to see too often close up. The clarity is spot-on but, like Adrian said, the whole head sharp would have been even better. Lovely clear BG too. It's a difficult shot, well taken.

Lovely shot. Nice and close. The DoF is shallow therefore the entire shot is not focused. Good depth of colour and nice catchlight in the eye.

WOW! Phil this is sooo close. I have to agree with Adrian that it needs a bit more DOF. The focus point seems to be just in front of the eye. Wish I get this close soon. :) Well done.
