[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Some of these high fashion models really know how to pose. Here the Red Deer hind is modelling her new winter coat which matches her surroundings beautifully.

----------------------------------------------------
Red Deer on Wikipedia

Although at one time Red Deer were rare in some areas, they were never close to extinction. Reintroduction and conservation efforts, especially in the United Kingdom, have resulted in an increase of Red Deer populations, while other areas, such as North Africa, have continued to show a population decline.

It is a ruminant, eating its food in two stages and having an even number of toes on each hoof, similar to camels, goats and cattle. European Red Deer have a longer relative tail length compared to their Asian and North American relatives. There are subtle differences in appearance between the various subspecies of Red Deer primarily in size and antlers with the smallest being the Corsican Red Deer found on the islands of Corsica and Sardinia and the largest being the East European red deer (or maral) of Asia Minor and the Caucasus Region to the west of the Caspian Sea. The deer of Central and Western Europe vary greatly in size with some of the largest deer found in the Carpathian Mountains in Central Europe.[2] West European Red Deer historically, grew to large size given ample food supply (including peoples' crops), and descendants of introduced populations living in New Zealand and Argentina have grown quite large in size and antlers. East European Red Deer stags and West European Red Deer stags of the Carpathian Mountains may rival the Wapiti in size. Note that the large size is applied to male deer only. Female Red Deer are much smaller.

Excelente tu completa colección Karan; al igual que en las demás fotografías has plasmado fielmente el color, pero en esta además has captado bien el gesto de atención del animal. Buen enfoque, encuadre y unos bellos tonos.

I say Karen, very chic indeed! I suspect that she was waiting for the local wildlife photographer to arrive to show off her winter wardrobe. A great shot beautifully composed, she indeed melts into the foreground. Lovely pose (of course) and nice sharp focus and details. Interesting note.

Karan, this is a great pose and I'm sure Marilyn isn't at rest in her grave. What a beautiful animal and you sure captured a fine moment. I like the colours blending with the deer and yet the background is really isolating it. Thank you!

Francine

Hi karan,
Not only a wonderful pose, but also a super sharp photo. The way you captured here in this great pose shows you great dedication to capturing these wonderful animals. I love the fact that you can see the wetness of her nose and every little details of her coat. The brown on brown color contrast gives it a peacefull mind to the eye.

Niek

Ah yes, and doesn't she look divine ;o) Once again you have somehow put so much character into your shot, aside from them being as technically well done as ever, I like her placement within the frame alot too, very well done.
