[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Had a great time photographing this guy!
He kept giving me poses and I got this fairly tight shot of him to allow the detail of his face to be observed.

Taken in Richmond Park which is host to over 300 Red Deer and 350 Fallow Deer in around 1000 hectares of open pastoral land which includes ancient forests, ponds and scrub land.

Adapted from royalparks.gov.uk:

The deer have played a major role in the Park's history and have shaped the landscape too. The special grassland habitat depends on grazing and the parkland trees have a distinctive 'browse line' as the deer eat all the leaves and twigs growing below about 1.5 metres. Deer grazing also prevents tree seedlings from growing, keeping the grassland open. For young trees to survive they need to be protected against damage from deer antlers for some 50 years.

Thanks for looking

Ricardo

Hello Simon,
Wonderful capture.POV,colors, sharpness and composition are very nice.TFS

A lovely portrait, and very sharp. I also agree there is a blue/cyan hue, especially on the right side. Also a faint magenta cast, possible caused by the grass fooling the camera's white balance. Your workshop has solved both these, although that's a little soft!

Hi Simon

What a beauty. As you know I do like these. The Fallow deer are sweet but they are never as impressive as the Red Deer stags. Excellent POV, good eye contact and sharp details. I see he is enjoying his lunch
