|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
|Hi guys. |
Took this dynamic shot in Richmond, weather was changeable and only half these gulls ended up in the sun which actually helps the shot I think. Was tricky to focus on the birds as they were so close to each other and always flying in front of each other. Nailed this one eventually with the central bird sharp and the others chasing behind.
The reason they were going crazy was someone was feeding the ducks and this lot wanted some to! They would fly in circles and come round together allowing me to judge where they'd be coming from and therefore get in position and have a people free background.
Thanks for looking,
From the RSPB website:
Not really a black-headed bird, more chocolate-brown - in fact, for much of the year, it has a white head. It is most definitely not a ‘seagull’ and is found commonly almost anywhere inland. Black-headed gulls are sociable, quarrelsome, noisy birds, usually seen in small groups or flocks, often gathering into larger parties where there is plenty of food, or when they are roosting.

splendid very beautiful composition colors and a very beautiful clearness beautiful moment that you knew captured cheer
Excellent shot of this action scene!
Actually today I spent all morning trying to get pictures of flying birds, and it's so difficult, it's needed to have lots of patiente and very luck.
You got the main Gull so well focused, I like the way light illuminates him and his wing's edges.
The rapid shutter speed let you catch the flutter of the wings very well also.
Congratulations, thanks for share and best regards,

Top shot with loads going on. Good colour and exposure. You've composed well to create a good shot out of chaos.
I like very much this "in flight" approach, as you say the photo is very dynamic, nevertheless shows very nice details and composition and very elegant tones & lights.
It surprises me the small amount of points...
Thanks and regards.
