Good morning everyone,

I have had such a busy week, with little time to use the computer! How lovely it is now, to relax and share a few minutes with friends!

This is a celebratory posting because I have reached 1,000 points! I would like to say a huge thank you to all the kind people on this site who have given me the sort of unselfish helpful, information, guidance and support that is not always available in books! This site is a cradle of learning for anyone who wants to further their knowledge of nature and their expertise in photography. Again, a huge 'Thank you!'

My posting, unsurprisingly for some, is of flowers!
This is the scentless mayweed, though it has other names in other countries. Leaves without scent distinguish this annual daisy from similar cornfield species; its upright, branched stems are 15-80cms tall. Long, slender, segmented leaves grow alternately on either side of the stem.

Although text books will tell you that this plant flowers July - September, I found this plant happily flowering in late October! It has been a strange year for plants!

pp cropped, brightened a little, added borders and signed

Thank you for your visit which I hope you enjoyed!
Please feel free to offer feedback on any aspect of the photograph. :-)

Hello Beverley,
Congratulations on reaching 1000! How nice to celebrate with a flower!! This is a beautiful composition showing these "autumn daisies". Lovely colours and fine focus on the front one with the others gradually blurred. I like it a lot!
Many thanks, Ulla

Hello Bev
You have this Mayweed enveloped in a nice tight DOF giving great sharp details to the two main subjects..but the bg you have brings the other two in perfectly out of focus..This spot on.
And may I congratulate you on reaching 1000 points...each and every point are richly deserved..
On a note isnt funny how plants flower when they shouldnt by the textbooks...Last december I found buttercups flowering in a sheltered spot!
All the Best to you and yours
Paul

This is well composed as ever, with a great job on the exposure.
Very well done,

Hello Beverley,
Ah, you still have flowers around! Not so here...
Fine details have been captured, and frankly the flowers themselves appear like it is end of season...
A well composed presentation, DOF spot on!
Greetings,
Pablo -

Superbe composition de ces trois belles marguerittes, le cadre les met bien en valeur ,les couleurs sont très naturelles.

Hi Beverley.
Thank you for so artistic picture. It is really wonderful. Soft lighting, delicate colours are very impressive. However, the key points are great DOF and fine scenery, nice framing and composition and. of course, excellent details of the beautiful flowers. Bravo and kind regards.
