[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Taken me a while to identiefy this longhorn Beetle Its Agapanthia villosoviridescens the (Golden-Bloomed Grey Longhorn) , not that I have managed to find out much more about it,Size is about 1ins. 25mm in body length, and it would appear to eat flowers and foilage as an adult and the larvae feed inside the stems of thistle and Hogweed, and not the usual food of other longhorn species which make them generally a major pest of the forestry industry because the larve bore tunnels under the bark of large trees spoiling the timber and in enough numbers killing the tree.
This one here is seen on a flower or Rosa cannina (Dog Rose) one of those lovely hedge row truely native shrubs in winter you can recognise them by the masses of large red hips that birds and mice love, and you could turn into RoseHip syrup or even better (IMO) Rose Hip wine.
Taken on one of those days 2years ago when every picture was a winner and I saw load of insects and butterflies I had not seen before. All this at a small field pond I have known since I was very much younger. and it still keeps coming up with surprises.

Shadows and highlights to lighten the shadow on the right and darken the centre of the flower.
Sharpen with USM
Use save as to reduce file size and save Exif data

Hello Robert,
a telling picture of a delightful early summer scene with an impressive longhorn sitting on a wild rose blossom, obviously enjoying the view.
Full with details, and very well focused on the main parts: the antennae of the beetle as well as the centre of the blossom. Feels good to look at on a grey cold winter day. Thank you! Best regards,

Robert, I guess sharpness is what I like the most here.

Besides, great pov and composition - in accordance with the rule of thirds.

A very beautiful flower, not to mention the great dof that allows us to see the bug's antenna.
