Lovely close up of this great subject, the details are good and focus right on the eyes. What I like most is lighting and colour saturation, look very natural.

This is an interesting and intense composition of this wonderful owl. I so prefer the owl not looking straight at the viewer. It is a well executed photo. I have the same lens so I will have to see what I can do up close one of these days.

Hi Karan,
When I saw the thumbnail, I tought you used your zoom lens again. But then I saw you used the kit lens and kept the promise of not using the the zoom until x-mas. As Paul mentioned, its a little soft in certain places, but the moment captured and te frame filling composition is awesome.

Excellence! Wow.. I'm blown away by this picture! I love the absolute clarity of this picture which allows me to appreciate all the fine details of the extreme closeup portrait of this owl. It's eyes are mesmerizing! I really love the brown toned colors displayed here.. and the feathers make it look so soft and inviting.

lovely shot, those eyes are almost hypnotic! i posted a shot of one of these beauties on here a while but didn't manage to get any close ups that were any good like yours. i really like the frame filling as mentioned by everyone else and think you've done well to get this sort of detail from a distance with a subject that will move if and when it wants to!

that is a stunner and being 1/4 profile..or 3/4 whatever...has more of a head feel to it
far sharper than the other one with eyes to match
