[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A while ago I went to the coast to attempt one of those lovely sunset over sea pictures but was unable to get one because of the weather. Yesterday was a lovely day with just a few clouds so I thought I would try again. It WAS a lovely day until just before the sun set when the clouds rolled in and it started to rain :) I did get some interesting shots with the clouds revealling some orange light as the sun got low in the sky. Most of these had manmade structures in them so I can't post them here. I did take a few simple sea pictures as I liked the different layers from shore to sky. I had someone today asking how I did collages so I thought I would post these as a collage

-----------------------------------------------------
The collages are created very simply. In my editing program I select new from the file menu and create a blank picture which I fill in using the fill tool with my BG colour. I then open the photos I want and resize them. I then select each photo, copy them and then paste into the blank document as a new layer (if you don't have the option of paste as a new layer then just select paste). I use the move tool to position then (with some programs you don't need the move tool and can just drag the picture into place with your mouse). When all the photos are in place I save as a .jpg document.

I am sure there are other ways to do this using template but this is the way I do them

Nice set fot 3 seacapes, aranged in a a unique and original way, i would never think it making 3 vertical views with this ones. I like the colours and textures in both water and sky.
Very interesting to go over you B&W posts too, I like them, but never dare to post one :)
Best regards!
Felipe.

Bonjour Karan,

This is one of these pictures that is so simple in its design, it is elegant. And the longish exposure has worked really well giving a soft effect again the harshness of the pebble beach.

I was wondering if you were using a filter at all?

The only thing I would say is to be careful with your horizons... I have this feeling of being very much at sea here, and I'm not so sure it was intentional! Luckily, I don't get seasick!

TFS

Hi Karan,
The different colors in the sky are really wonderful. I think it might even be more beautiful then a sunset. As you mentioned the different layers are beautiful to see. I also like the fact that it looks as if the front of each photo has been illuminated. The slow shutter speed gave the waves the beautiful silky look.
TFS,
Niek

Yup, the horizon

hi karan,
intéressante présentation des allées et venues de la mer, pas évident à faire en photo. Bonne exposition avec des teintes globalement identiques.

Hello Karan,
Wonderful seascapes. Each frame is well caught and composed.Excellent presentation.
TFS..:-)

Hi Karan,
that's a wonderful melancholic collage, I like it so much.
It is reflecting the winter-depression - but that's great, special the silky-effect on the left one.
I needed a little break here, sorry, but now I'm interested to see what I missed, all the wonderful works from the members, I'm happy to be back.

Hello Karan,
Interesting weather report!
And don't be sad because there are milklions of sunset images while good stormy weather images are not that many...
Your are good, strong atmosphere and telling the story well!

Hello Hester,
Three really wonderful sescapes in one! They are all very beautiful individually and together they look really dramatic. I love the colours and the movement of the waves. Very nice collage and simple frame.
Many thanks, Ulla

Hi Karan,
Wonderful seascapes. Each one looks so soothing and original. The colours of the sea and the sky are amazingly captured. You must have enjoyed it as much as we all here. Gives so much freshness. Kudos.

Hi karan,
an excellent collage you've got here. you really are a talented person.woderful seascapes. it's a pleasure to the beholder. thanks for sharing it with us, and thanx for your tip on making collages.:)
rEgards,
Smitha.

Nice collage Karan.

Really good to see some artistic flavour coming through here. I like the slow shutter that has been used to give us a feel for the movement of the sea. Would it have been better to put all the horizons at the same level?
I think you've done a great job here overall. :)
