I haven't had much time for photos in the last two weeks due to a busy period at work and also getting ready for Christmas. I was supposed to be putting up my Christmas decorations today but I woke up to find that nature had done some decorating herself. This is the first real frost we have had this year so I couldn't resist going out early and taking some photos.

Frost Facts from Weatheronline:
Under clear frosty nights in winter soft ice crystals might form on vegetation or any object that has been chilled below freezing point by radiation cooling. This deposit of ice crystals is known as hoar frost and may sometimes be so thick that it might look like snow. The interlocking ice crystals become attached to branches of trees, leafs, hedgerows and grass blades and are one of the most prominent features of a typical 'winter wonderland' day. However, the fine 'feathers', 'needles' and 'spines' might also be found on any other object that is exposed to supersaturated air below freezing temperature.

Hi Karan,
I love it - what a beautiful shot with all the glittering ice-crystals.
I also had not much time in the last days - so we can be happy to relax for a few minutes here and now before a busy week again will start tomorrow - all the best for you, greetings
Sabine - wishnugaruda

Hi Karan,

Interesting subject (and note) of something so commonly found. You handled the light, composition and DOF very well. Cropping might be slightly tight, but that is a personal opinion.

Hi Karan,
If we humans would decorate things with this philosophy, planet would be healthier. Lovely image that requires imagination, that is the place where beaty lies. Wondeful colors, shape and background.

Hello Karan

A very artistic approach to frost. It can be so beautiful especially if there is a light fog too.Nicely composed and cropped.Very nice lighting and I like the shallow DOF with emphasis on the main sprig.Well done .TFS

Hi Karan

This is indeed an excellent macro and a great idea...the Christas decoration could have waited another day :p
The composition here is stunning! All those vertical lines look great and the angles between them are lovely.
The DOF is really good, too, and the sharpness of the details impecable as always.
Excellent work with the exposure, as well.

Bravo, TFS and have a great week

Otra simple y bella composición Karan con el sentido estético que caracteriza tus presentaciones.
Me gusta el punto de vista captado, con el fondo ideal para realzar los cristales de hielo y una iluminación apropiada para el mismo fin.
Cheers!.
