Hi karen. The eye on tis one are very good catching the light. good detail in the fur and colours. sharp focusing. with a nice low POV. well done TFS. good notes to read.

Hi Karan

Although you mention that it's a shame to have the reed over this little guy, but I actually think it is fine since it shows this small rodent in habitat scurrying through the vegetation while it forages for food stuff. Thus, a typical activity this little guy would perform for most of the day and after all it is a great shot showing quite ample features of the vole's body. I can fully understand why this cute little animal is one of your favourites.

The composition and cropping is well done, the colours are perfectly natural, the focus ensured lovely details throughout the shot, and the exposure was well managed even showing a little catch-light in the eye.

Voles are very tiny aren't they?? I'm not sure about a water vole. This is a nice capture of the little guy in its natural habitat. The grass helps give scale to the image. Nice sharpness and natural color.

i agree with Loot, the reed covering him is great and adds to the images feel of life in the undergrowth. Excellent details and natural looking colour, you seem to have a knack for finding these little creatures, i've tried a few times and always failed miserably.

Hi Karan,
Splendid shot of the Water Voles with sharp details and fine focus. I like the intensity on its eyes and its singleminded attention to forage for food irrespective of your presence. I think the reeds and the BG illustrates the habitat well. Excellent POV to portray it and very nicely composed. Kudos.

I like this image of one of your favorite animals!
You caught him in action under some branches, and we can appreciate with good details his fur and head.
I think it's very appropriated the scene in his natural ambient.

Good capture, Karan! He looks very well fed. I don't mind the reed over him either. It helps to show his single-mindedness, pushing through, over and under obstacles in his search for food.

I do not think the reed is a distraction to this shot at all. It is part of his natural habitat, and crosses his body where it does not detract from showing his face. A good exposure with nice even light. The colors and detail look excellent.

we dont see much small mammals photographs on TN. many people dont like them. but I am interested in these rodents.
